What’s Causing your Chiller 0.5–1℉ Off from the Actual Water?

[2025,April,22nd] – At Hi-Q Therapy, a lab customized customer feedback drives product innovation. When a client flagged a 0.5–1℉ difference between the displayed and actual water temperature on one of our ice bath chillers, our team took immediate action.

The Issue: Displayed Temperature Too Low
The root cause? The temperature probe was placed inside the titanium cooling coil. In certain conditions—especially with low water flow—the coil kept cooling after the water passed through, making the probe show a colder reading than the water in the bath.

The Fix: Probe Moved to Water Outlet
To solve this, our engineers relocated the probe to the inlet, where it now measures the actual circulating water temperature. This ensures more accurate, real-time readings that reflect real water conditions—not just internal components.

Smart Redesign, Fast Turnaround
The redesign wasn’t simple. The probe needed protection without disrupting flow. Our procurement and engineering teams quickly developed a custom inlet port to hold the sensor securely. In under a week, the new setup was tested, approved, and put into production.

Why It Matters
Precision matters, especially in therapy use. This upgrade eliminates uncertainty and improves reliability across the board.

A Culture of Continuous Improvement
“This was about more than fixing a single issue—it was about making our chillers smarter and more user-focused,” said Andre Wang, CEO at Hi-Q Therapy. “Every customer insight helps us raise the bar.”
